If you want to buy a PC, one of the most important things to pay attention to is its operating system. The truth is — your choice is not actually that great, as there are only three possible variants that are adopted by the masses, and they are Linux, macOS, and Windows.
How are these different, and what are their main advantages and disadvantages?

The main advantage of Linux is its price, as this piece of software is completely free of charge. Apart from getting a free program, you also get a free source code that you can change in order to adapt the system to your personal preferences.
On the other hand, people who are not that tech-savvy might have a problem adapting to Linux at first, meaning they will have to learn a lot of things in order to be comfortable using this OS.
Windows
Windows was created by a company called Microsoft, which is still one of the biggest tech companies in the world. We’re sure you all know the story of its origin featuring its creator Bill Gates. But today we’re not going to talk about that. Instead, we’ll break down the pros and cons of using Windows.
The main advantage of this OS is that it’s the most popular software of this kind, meaning it is compatible with 95% of hardware, as the majority of hardware vendors make their product with Windows in mind.
Moreover, Windows is extremely easy to use, as its interface is very intuitive, meaning that total beginners can learn how to get around in no time.
On the other hand, Windows can be expensive and can get quite laggy with time. Unless you install great antivirus software, your system will be very susceptible to virus attacks.
Finally, not all Windows OSs are good, as their team sometimes simply fails to make a good and stable system. Somehow, there’s an equal number of the good and the bad sides.
macOS
macOS is an OS created by Apple, the most popular tech company at the moment. The system was created by some of the early Apple personnel, including Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak. The two of them and their team made a stable and secure OS that is used by millions of people nowadays. However, macOS has some disadvantages as well.
macOS is made in such a way that the interface is so intuitive that everyone can use it. Unlike Windows’ interface that can get complicated from time to time once you get technical, macOS keeps everything simple.
macOS is exclusively made for Apple products, which is the main reason why its hardware and software work so seamlessly. You will not experience any lags or anything similar while working on your macOS computer.
But that fact is also its main disadvantage, as you cannot really install macOS on any computer — they have to be Apple ones. The problem with it is that Apple products are, as you probably know, pretty expensive.
