1. What's the mmf file?
MMF is one of mobile phone ringtone formats. The ringtone file is used in mobile phones which sound chip is designed by YAMAHA. The ringtone format is based of two format - midi and wave.

SMAF is the data format specification designed by YAMAHA, which has a main purpose to define the data expression of the multimedia contents for mobile device (mainly used in cellular phone). The basic portion of SMAF specification is designed to play the sound data conveyed by YAMAHA LSI sound chip. It is now mainly used as an the ringing alert melody of a cellular phone.

2. What's the phone brand to use mmf file as ringtone format?

3. How to convert MID to mmf directly?
a. Download iPhone Mobile Ringtone Composer from http://www.ringtone4me.com
b. Install and run iPhone Mobile Ringtone Composer, it will display following main window,

c. Open midi file from your disk.
d. You can play the media file first, then drag the start time triangle and end time triangle to select ringtone part.
e. Click button 'Save' to popup Save as dialog-box, select 'SMAF files (*.mmf)' as extension name. And input your filename and folder, click 'Save' to save the midi file to mmf format.

Note:
1. You can adjust the percent of audio fade in/out within the whole midi file.
